Students of JIMS Lajpat Nagar of BBA sem-2 accompanied by their class coordinator and academic assistant, went on an industrial visit to NSIC (National Small Industries Corporation) on 22nd February 2018, Thursday. NSIC was established in 1955 by GOI with the main objectives to promote, aid and foster the growth of SSIs in the country by strengthening linkages with large and medium-scale enterprise and boosting exports of products from small enterprises.The students were given a vivid description of the concept of entrepreneurship and the help rendered by the government to start their own enterprises. They were then taken on a round of the plant to witness a wide range of machines and understand their working mechanisms. The prices of machines ranged from four lakhs to sixteen lakhs. These are used to prepare soya milk, biscuits and cookies, ground spices, wheat, mustard oil, socks, paper napkins, toilet paper, table napkins, bottles, paper plates, notebooks (along with printing and binding), iron nails and so on. This was followed by a visit to their small fashion designing coaching classroom. The visit ended with an orientation speech by one of the officers. The BBA students learned how a business is set up and how the profits are made. It was an informative, interesting and a successful visit.
